Folks, each day, I get phone calls that take me on new adventures, and I took one recently from Jim Randle, the EEYP Youth Outreach Coordinator with the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation office. Their mission is to “catch them” and turn it around for the better (I made up the last part after “catch them”).

As a result of that phone call and what happened afterwards, in just one week, Every 1 Help 1 is working with Jim and the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation office to develop new community service and vocational education initiatives for the youth and teens. The goal is to “do more” and increase the opportunities that come with entering and the “Community Service Restitution (CSR)” program “funnel” and doing what’s required to “fall” out of it and on to future success…

As part of the process improvement and change management effort, Jim agreed that engaging as many of the 2600 active nonprofits in Fort Bend county as possible would vastly increase the amount of available “pathways” with specific daily community service options for the youth and teens.  Adding to that are the businesses and private citizens that would also sign-up to participate in the CSR program and more. This thing was not hard to put together folks, not at all.

Jim and I went further: let’s add a jobs program and vocational education opportunities to the mix, so we inserted the local Texas State Technical College (TSTC) into the equation and are creating a new “pathway” to all that they have to offer as well.  Furthermore, Jim is working with the local Texas Workforce Solutions office, shaping their local jobs services into another funnel for the youth and teens.

I’ll tell ya, Jim and I get along fantastically and that’s a reason why things have gone so well and so fast; he is “quick to listen and slow to speak” and the sort of person someone like me can get behind, immediately, and give time, money, and whatever else is required to see him to success. Every 1 Help 1 Inc is all in with Jim Randle, the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation office, and of course, the youth and teens in the CSR program that we want to see succeed beyond graduation out of it. I appreciate Jim’s reaching out to E1H1 and allowing me the opportunity to participate. Thank you.
